Disney Cruise Line to expand

The expanded Disney Cruise Line fleet
The Walt Disney Company announced recently that it will expand its popular Disney Cruise Line by adding two more ships which more than doubles its current capacity.

The two new ships will each be two decks taller than the current fleet which is made up of the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder. Where the new ships will be docked and what routes they will sail has not yet been decided. The new ships will be built by the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany and the two 122,000 ton vessels will launch in 2011 and 2012. Each will have 1,250 staterooms and have not yet been named.

"With a larger fleet, we'll have greater flexibility to offer a variety of itineraries," said Jay Rasulo, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. "This is a business that our guests love, and we're pleased to give them more options to explore the world with Disney with two new ships."
